  1. Hi Hellokitty,

In case you may somehow look back at this topic, I would like to ask for some knowledge about clash.

I think I saw concept somewhere in the former fiverarts webboard which said, like, clash could happen only between EB of adjacent pillars such as month EB with either year EB or day EB, or day EB with hour EB or month EB. But, based on this article, year EB and hour EB could have clash although they are very far from each other.

So, the concept of EB clash only between adjacent pillars is no longer valid, isn't it?

  2. Hello there! I get email notification every time someone leaves a comment. :). It just depends on when I check my email and when I have time to respond. Hehe.

So far your question, yes someone from old forum said, if clash is not beside each other, then it is not consider a clash. I tend not to agree. If a clash is in the four pillars, then there is a clash. If it is beside each other, the higher the severity. If it is in hour and year, it is less severe, but it is still a clash. The classics doesn't go into pillar clash. It only give you a very general statement about bazi concepts. Most of what we read now, especially bazi in English, comes from people's interpreting like you or me or other authors, bloggers, etc... So one must know how to differentiate primary information and secondary information.

    1. Hi Hellokitty,

Thank you very much for your help!

My curiosity just csme from the explanation of the result. It looks to me that "a lot of out of luck situation" seems the most severe to me. : ) Especially if I compare it with clash of year and mooth EBs which are adjacent to each other. I consider that their effect of "leaving ancestor business and not able to live in ancestor land" are less severe than " a lot of out of luck situation".

Maybe there are more clues in traditional wisdom which I overlooked.

  3. Hello there again! I used to feel the classics are outdated so I didn't really study it in the beginning. Rather I focus on commentary I can relate and understand, which is why you see a lot of my (actually all my translations are from modern practitioners. As I continue to translate more and more from different sources, then I start to see certain inconsistencies and wonder why it is. Sometime after translating for a while, I decide to read up on classics. Then it dawned on me that most of what is circulating are peoples interpretation of the classics and probably some from their own experience when decoding charts. Classics is good to know so you can tell which master is good or not. But completely relyin on classics is insufficient for our modern day society.
